Commercial Pest Control receive many enquiries from clients asking if we provide ‘free termite inspections’ the answer straight up is No.

Why? Because there really is no such thing as a free termite inspection if it is carried out to meet the requirements as set out in the Australian Standards for Termite and Timber Pest Inspections.

A thorough termite inspection will take between 1 to 2 hours, and longer in some cases, depending on the size of your home or property and whether it is a standard concrete slab home or timber floor home with a subfloor which will also require a thorough inspection.

The main objective of a company offering a free termite inspection is selling you a termite treatment.
If you are considering a free termite inspection here are a few questions you might want to ask

• How long will the inspection take?
• Will the roof void be inspected thoroughly?
• Is it a complete internal & external inspection?
• What exactly will they look for and report on? (termites ,wood borer ,wood fungus & decay )
• Will I receive a full written report carried out to the Australian Standards? (Most important)
• Will the report include recommendation that I can implement to reduce conditions that are conducive to termites?

If you think about it logically, no company could survive providing free 1-2 hourly inspections at no charge.
